Hon. Raymond L. Newkirk, Psy.D., Ph.D., I.O.M., D.G., F.B.I.M., F.A.B.I. is the founder and Chairman of Systems Management Institute. He is recipient of the International Order of Merit, an Eminent Churchill Fellow, Wisdom Award of Honor, and inductee into the Wisdom Hall of Fame. He has earned advanced degrees and certifications in several disciplines including the Ph.D. in Behavioral Science and Philosophy, the Psy.D., and the Ph.D. with Distinction in Human Science. Currently he is pursuing Ph.D. studies in Pastoral Counseling. Having developed more than 50 seminars, Dr. Newkirk is a specialist in Strategic Action focusing on Strategic Enterprise Design and Executive Transformation. His professional background in competitive leverage, industrial innovation, and technological versatility includes a distinguished career in executive management, consulting, education, public speaking, transformational coaching, and writing. He has delivered the Keynote to audiences around the world. Upon his visits to Europe, the press frequently interviews Dr. Newkirk about trends in strategic action and Information Technology. In 2004, the International Biographical Centre, Cambridge, England award Dr. Newkirk the Da Vinci Diamond Award "For Insiprational Accomplishment" in advancing the development of Virtual Learning.

Coupled with a rich entrepreneurial background, Dr. Newkirk enjoys extensive executive and technical experience having served in many diverse industries as Director of Executive Development, V.P. Marketing & Sales, V.P. of Information Services, V.P.Human Resources, C.E.O., and Chairman. He was the founder of Bay University. Among other appointments, he served as President & C.O.O. of P.Q. Information Group, b.v. the Netherlands, C.O.O. of Mindmaker Incorporated, San Jose, and C.E.O.of the International Association of Information Management, Manila.

Working at the highest levels of business and government, Dr. Newkirk led significant initiatives in the Middle East for the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, U.S. Dept. of State, U.S. Dept. of Defense, and in the Far East for the Office of the President, Republic of the Philippines. He also completed significant consulting appointments for Bank of America and Dell Computers where his engagements contributed to Bank of America's major Informaion Technology initiative for the 21st Century and Dell's growth in revenues from one billion dollars to more than eighteen billion dollars in three years.

Dr. Newkirk has spoken widely throughout the world in technical and management domains. He has consulted to the world's leading organizations including the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Ministry of Defense and Aviation of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Gould Corporation, American Express, TANDEM Computers, IBM, the City and County of San Francisco, British Airways, Pacific Bell, Sola Optical U.S.A., Walt Disney, Digital Equipment Corporation, DHL, the City of Tucson, Arvida Corporation, Westinghouse Corporation, Matson Navigation, State of Florida Department of Education, U.S. Dept. of Energy, Nuclear Regulatory Commission, U.S. Navy, Technology Transfer of Rome, EMAP Conferences in Belgium, London, Amsterdam, Rome and Madrid, IBC Conferences in London, National Computer Center of the Philippines, and the Royal Saudi Naval Forces.

In 1992, the Chairman of the CNN World Business Development Congress in Washington D.C. invited Dr. Newkirk as a VIP Priority Guest to discuss problems associated with emerging technology in the Third World. In 1991, the Scientific Advisor of the National Academy of Sciences invited him to participate as a visiting Ambassador in Business Development and Technology Transfer to the Soviet Union. He has been invited to participate in other important international development conferences in Cairo, Egypt and Oxford, England.

Dr. Newkirk is a prolific writer having authored 12 books, 135 monographs, and more than 400 articles ranging from the Philosophy of Science to Executive Development. His recent book, Beyond the Year 2000 Crisis - Vision21 - A Model for Business Growth in the 21st Century, was awarded the prestigious Winston Churchill Medal for its contribution to business wisdom . He has just completed the first draft of his next book about taking the myth out of turn-of-the-century leadership. In the works as a Limited Edition, Time to Get Serious: Strategic Thinking for Executive Practice in the Boardroom, will be a definitive work in leadership diversity. Dr. Newkirk has authored 35 courses for Bay University's e-learning program and designed its unique eLearning, practice based model.

He consults and mentors in Strategic Management, Executive Transformation, Enterprise Design, Virtual Learning, and Workgroup Design. For executives at the pinnacle of decision making, he actively engages in the formulation of strategic action systems. He advocates using Information Technology to leverage strategic action and offers a unique vision of the Board of Directors as an Evolutionary Guidance System . The driving force behind his vision of 21st Century leadership is: "mindfulness through design, competence through commitment, and facilitation through technology." He particularly enjoys conducting stress management workshops for senior executives.

Following work in Europe, the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England honored Dr. Newkirk with their "Man of Achievement" recognition. In 1989, the Bush Administration invited him to be an adviser in I/T to the Department of Energy. The American Biographical Institute listed him in its Edition of 5000 Personalities in the world and in 1990, he became an I.B.C. Fellow, Cambridge. In 1992, the Board of Governors of the New York Academy of Sciences nominated Dr. Newkirk a member in this scientific organization and the American Biographical Institute honored him as a Distinguished Leader for his service to the consulting profession. The American Biographical Institute listed him in its Dictionary of Leading Americans. Who's Who in American Scholarship listed Dr. Newkirk in the 1986 edition and the California Historical Society selected him for inclusion in their Edition of Who's Who in California. Who's Who in America also listed Dr. Newkirk as did Who's Who in the West, Who's Who in the World, Who's Who in Science and Engineering, and Who's Who in Finance and Industry. In 1992, the Vice President of the World Parliament nominated him as a Knight in the Confederation of Chivalry to help "build a bridge of friendship across the Continents and Oceans".

Dr. Newkirk conducted doctoral research at the Brookings Institution and was awarded a doctoral fellowship at the University of Arizona in Tucson, Arizona. He became a Fellow of the British Institute of Management in 1985, attained C.Q.A. certification in 1986 and certification in Systems Management in 1989. In 1995 the Board of Governors of the American Biographical Institute elected Dr. Newkirk as Lifetime Deputy Governor. Also, the ABI Board of International Research selected him as a "Most Distinguished Man of the Decade" for his influence in the professions and his commitment to deeds that motivate others to strive for excellence in their own professional lives. Dr. Newkirk is a Fellow of the American Biographical Institute's Advisory Board. In 1999, the International Biographical Centre of Cambridge, England honored him as one of 2000 Outstanding Scholars of the 20th Century and 1000 Great Americans. Harvard's National Honors Institute honored him as Outstanding Scholar of the Year.

Dr. Newkirk has participated in a range of professional and academic associations including American Assocation for the Advancement of Science, IEEE, American Psychology Association, Association for Computing Machinery, American Entrepreneurs Association, International Platform Association - America's most distinguished speakers association founded by Daniel Webster - and the New York Academy of Sciences. The National Honors Institute sponsored by Harvard University honored Dr. Newkirk as "Outstanding Scholar of the Year".

As an innovative social thinker and person of deep social concern, he speaks often on the problems facing the elderly, orphaned, and disadvantaged in this technological, fast paced, and quickly changing age. In the early 1980s, he established several health clinics and medical networks on the East Coast dedicated to ensuring the nutrition of the elderly. For private and government agencies, he has spoken throughout Florida addressing the health, nutrition, preventive care, and plight of the elderly. He has special regard for the isolation of the elderly in nursing and retirement homes. He helped establish an orphanage in the Third World, funded fellowships for students in Eastern Europe to travel abroad and engage in professional training, and established a Southeast Asian International Fellowship.

Dr. Newkirk's experiences are as eclectic as they are broad. On a personal note, he advocates the intellectual, physical, and spiritual development of the person. He studied philosophy as a Benedictine Monk in Italy, worked as a deck hand on a Dutch freighter, and studied theology as a Franciscan Friar in Washington D.C. He participated for many years with the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) both as a competitor and supporter. Early in his athletic career, he attained international ranking in Olympic Weightlifting. A few of his many records still stand today. As an amateur explorer, he enjoyed dividing in the Red Sea, mountain climbing in Alaska, working as a deck hand on Dutch freighter, sailing in the Bahamas, deep-sea fishing in the Caribbean, and other global adventures. His personal philosophy is: "Life, Love, Leadership, Growth, & Honor."
